Kenneth Harkis

Art Brokerage: Kenneth Harkis British Artist: The pensioner from Chapel Park, Newcastle, returned to his former hobby of painting after being forced to give up his first love of model-making due to ill health and, thanks to encouragement from a local artist, he is now confident enough to show off his talent in an exhibition of oil paintings on show at Three Tanners Bank studio in North Shields. He got talking about his passion to artist Mark Taylor Gregg when he wandered into the North Shields Arts Collective studio at Three Tanners Bank. Mr. Harkis adds: "I asked Mark to show me what I was doing wrong and he said I mixed too much paint and told me to cut the colors down and how to use the colors and a palette knife. Most of Mr. Harkis' work is a product of his imagination and he's currently busy with an autumn scene he's pictured in his mind's eye: "a wood with a path going through it, though I don't whether to make it a river".
