FranceArt Brokerage: Michele Battut French Artist: b. 1946. Born in Paris to an architect father, Michèle Battut studied primary school in pas-de-Calais before entering the Lycée Fénelon. Devoting her leisure time as a teenager to painting, in 1962 she took part in her first Salons d'Arras, Le Touquet and Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, which awarded her a first prize for decorative compositions. She entered the Academy of the Grande Chaumière the following year, attending René Simon's equally mythical drama course, which earned her roles in short films. She entered the école Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1964, graduating in 1969 with a degree in visual arts. The following year, she became a permanent artist at the Artcurial gallery in Paris, attracting the attention of Frédéric Mégret in the Literary Figaro. In 1971 she was the winner of the Casa de Velasquez in Madrid, which, like Villa Medici in Rome, was the consecration of young artists. She became a member of the Salon d'automne in 1972 and the following year at the Salon des artistes français. Listings wanted.
