Milo Manara is an Italian artist best known for his erotic comics and illustrations. Manara's distinctive style of ink drawings and unique narratives first made his work popular in Italy during the 1980s, with such titles as Il Profumo dell'invisible (Butterscotch) (1986), Candid camera (Hidden Camera) (1988), and Gullivera (1996). "Women aren't ashamed of their bodies, and neither am I, because I love the ladies," he once said in an interview. His highly sexualized depictions of women have often caused controversy but have remained nevertheless popular, with Manara penning illustrations for X-Men, City Hunters, and other widely circulated comics.
