Kudo was trained as a youth in calligraphy, and learned from a Master who became his first Zen teacher. This training encouraged his creativity, and taught him skills and discipline. His spiritual beliefs influence his art with delicacy, refinement, and elegance. Strong, goddess-like women who dwell in natural settings inspire many of Kudo's paintings. He is a master of the line drawing. His style incorporates traditional Japanese methods with classical, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco elements.
