United StatesArt Brokerage: Robert Natkin American Artist: b. 1930. Robert Natkin, born 1930 in Chicago, is among the premier abstract painters in America. Since the early 1950s he has created lyrical and powerful paintings which are represented in the permanent collections of major museums as well as in corporate and private collections. His work has been exhibited in leading galleries in the USA, Europe and Japan. He opened the Wells Street Gallery in Chicago, and his art was exhibited in Chicago's 1957 Momentum exhibition. In 1960, his work was included in the Young America exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. There is a BBC documentary on Robert Natkin, directed by Mike Dibb. He also took up writing on a regular basis, including art criticism for Modern Painters and The New York Observer as well as catalogue introductions for fellow artists. Listings wanted.
