Tadashi Asoma

Art Brokerage: Tadashi Asoma Japanese Artist: b. 1923-2017. Tadashi Asoma was born in Japan in 1923. He was awarded a scholarship by the Japanese government in 1958 to study art in Paris. While in France, Asoma became interested in contemporary American art and visited the United States. He settled in New York in 1961, first in the East Village and then in the scenic village of Garrison in Upper New York state. In the mid 1990's he felt the call to return to his ancient ancestral home in Japan. His work is noted for his tri-cultural influence with its graceful compositions influenced by his Japanese roots, the vibrant colors influenced by his time in France, and the modern flair inspired by his experience in New York.
