Tom Gress - United States
Art Brokerage: Tom Gress American Artist: As a young man, in addition to painting art, Tom Gress played guitar with several bands in the early rock era. His first group in the "50's" was the opening act on several occasions for rock & roll legend, Buddy Holly and The Crickets. Later, Tom Gress played with The Muleskinners and Jim Sundquist of the Fenderman hit recording band. They played shows, had recordings and toured Canada with several Grand Ole Opry Stars. Tom's discography and producing credits are featured in the book Can You Hear That Beat and other publications. The artist's interest in painting started at age 7 years old when his parents gave him a paint by number art set for Christmas. Through his teens he enrolled in every art class available and was painting and drawing every spare moment of his time. Becoming a young parent of 3 children at age 22, put his dream of being an artist on hold. Supporting his familly as a musician, he later became very successful in the record business as a producer and executive. In 1980 he left the record business and moved to Arizona where he studied art and began painting full time. Being mostly self taught, Tom learned to understand painting in a different way from his association with other successful artists. Unlike most artists, Tom paints in many styles and genres from landscapes to extreme abstract. Listings wanted.
