Story / Additional InfoOne of the most tragic works of Vladimir Ryklin. Pain, grief, anger and pity simply spill from the canvas to the stunned viewer. Fanciful, broken postures and lines, the tragic dark colors of a stormy sky, sharply contrasting with the brightly scarlet robe of the “Prosecutor†and the defenselessly naked image of the “Hanged Manâ€, make us again and again experience the drama unfolding before our eyes. And yet, despite all the tragedy and horror of what is happening, the weak lights of the Menorah, breaking through the darkness, remind us of the Creator’s Mercy and Hope, even where it would seem that it doesn’t exist.
