Ernesto - France
Art Brokerage: Ernesto Artist: Parisian artist, Ernesto, was born in Portugal but at 18, his interest in painting carried him to France where he was accepted in the renowned "School of Fine Arts", Paris. After his graduation, he decided to establish his studio in the centre of Paris. His life in Paris has a great influence upon his works; he has totally absorbed the atmosphere and the typical images of Parisian life-style. Ernesto is a mystical and mysterious personality who has an innovative and inventive style of painting. His characters are from another world who inhabit a mythological universe. Departing from realism and having a frank decorative intention, he enjoys creating eye-pleasing harmonies of intimate scenes where charming subjects enjoy leisurely pursuits. His colour use and theme are playfully frivolous but he has a very self-assured and enigmatic style. Ernesto's chic denizens, always well dressed and lazily beautiful in their stylised poses seem to suggest that life is full of fun and games. The figures also occupy, asymmetrically, within the entire canvas. They command centre stage attention but seem oblivious to all around as they concern themselves with their own secretive and intimate relationships with each other. Extremely impressed by his visit to Bali in 1994, Ernesto's new works have taken a more exotic and fiery dimension. His need for excitement and extravagance is evident in his paintings. His works are in numerous collections of important foundations both in France and America. Paintings wanted by Art Brokerage.
