Alex Pauker - Russian Federation
Art Brokerage: Park West Artist: Alex Pauker Russian Artist: b. 1974. Alex Pauker was born in Russia in 1974, while it was still under Communist rule. When he was attending the College of Art in Yekaterinburg, the scenic first stop on the Tran-Siberian Railroad, he realized his love for painting. So, in 1990, Pauker decided to travel the world seeking new inspiration for his work. Accompanying him on his travels was fellow artist, Sveta Esser, whom he met in college and later married. Pauker was immediately drawn to the enchanting scenery of Europe, and he was awarded a place in the student exchange program where he earned his second art degree. While studying for his degree, he worked as an illustrator and a creative consultant at a publishing house. It was at this time he entered and won the second International Art Contest. Capturing the essence of Europe's breathtaking scenery is Pauker's passion. He paints in acrylic using a brush and palette knife, building up the surface of his canvases to a thick texture called "impasto". His play of light and passion for color result in paintings united with a sense of peace, natural beauty and tranquility. He is inspired by a confluence of the Fauvists, like Matisse, and the Impressionists, like Manet. The Fauves were artists focused on expressing pleasure and serenity through intense colors and lively brushstrokes. The Impressionists were spontaneous, fascinated with light, movement and capturing a fleeting moment by breaking up color into smaller brushstrokes. Pauker incorporates all these influences into his works. His works can be found in many private collections in Israel, Europe and the United States. His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums abroad. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
