Frederick Hart - United States
Art Brokerage: Frederick Hart American Sculptor: b. 1943-1999. Artist and sculptor and stone cutter in the classical style, Frederick Hart was an apprentice at the National Cathedral in Washington DC and learned there about sculpting and stone cutting. Hart's big break came when he won a competition to design the facade of the National Cathedral, which incorporated his thirteen year masterpiece of the Creation, a 21 X 15 foot bas relief sculpture. His work was influenced by the teachings of Teilhard de Chardin and his book Divine Milieu. Hart created the figures in Ex Nihilo in a constant state of awakening and becoming. Hart also created "Three Soldiers" Vietnam Memorial, a figurative bronze to contrast with the abstraction of Maya Lin's work. The memorial is the most visited monument in Washington DC. Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in South Carolina. As a proponent of realism, he was made an honorary member of The American Society of Classical Realism Guild of Artists. Sculpting with light Hart went on to create a collection of works in cast acrylic which absorbed and soften light. These works often had ethereal inner figures and a prismatic shape to illuminate the subject. Art Brokerage is one of the largest secondary market dealers for Frederick Hart Sculpture both acrylic and bronze. We are experts and guarantee condition and authenticity. Listings wanted.
