'If ever a man could paint a breeze, the aroma of flowers and the sound of music, it was him.' American Artist: b. 1923-2003. In 1923, Italo Botti was born Greenwich Village, New York. In 1932, Botti won first competition at the age of nine. He won scholarship at the Leonardo da Vinci School of Art in Brooklyn. He studied at the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Art. He also studied at the Abracheff School of Fine Art and at the Art Student's League of New York. Major influences on his work have been Nicolai Abracheff, Frank Vincent Dumond, Reginald Marsh and Bernard Lamott, all of whom were his instructors. He taught at the City College of New York. Also created murals, mosaics, stained glass and sculpture. For many years he was represented by Circle Fine Art.During an artistic career that spanned more than half a century, Italo George Botti created thousands of works, often painting two canvases at a time and running from one to the other as the ideas came.
