This profoundly significant event inspired the creation of a unique piece of art that encapsulates all the emotional intensity and wonder of this chapter in my life. Crafted on a canvas with a diameter of 70 centimeters, “Emozioni Lunari” stands out due to its three-dimensional reliefs, which imbue the composition with depth and vibrancy. The skillfully modeled surfaces appear to emerge from the canvas, transforming it into a sort of sculpture. This unconventional artistic technique adds a tactile dimension to the artwork, allowing viewers to experience a more intimate connection with my artistic expression. In 2017, Ivana Urso joined the "Pentastrattismo" Movement of Massimo Picchiami, a research and experimentation group of Italian contemporary artists, where she was able to express her talent and creativity in the abstract form, in a unique and personal way. Ivana Urso's works are mainly paintings that focus on the materiality of painting, creating a compact and real surface. She uses a mixed technique of acrylic on canvas with relief decorations, resins, watercolors, canvas gauzes, handmade papers, gold leaf, metallic paste, photographic or cardboard cutouts, lava dust, silver leaf. Her art stands out for its ability to make the work corporeal and material, interrupting its continuity, thus expressing her inexhaustible experimental will. With continuous research and discovery of materials, even the least common, Ivana Urso achieves surprising results that celebrate the impermanence of being, of being there, but which become a definitive imprint that the artist's creation gracefully returns. Ivana Urso's handmade paper is a rich, symbolic decoration, almost a decorative fabric that still recalls deep moods and suggestions. The dimension of memory is a constant theme in her works, evident from the constant presence of the book or the word. Through these elements, Ivana Urso tries to push the imagination and the viewer's gaze beyond the two-dimensionality of the canvas, breaking down a system of two-dimensionality and pragmatic observation. In recent times, Ivana Urso has expanded her field of artistic research rnfocusing on the planets and the moon, sources of inspiration for many of her recent works. In particular, she has created several works using the round shape, which represents for her the symbol of the universe and perfection. In these works, Ivana Urso once again uses mixed techniques with acrylic on canvas and relief decorations, but she has added the use of new materials such as marble powders and colored sands, which allow her to create three-dimensional effects and to simulate the surface of a planet or the moon.
