Jack Schmidt

Art Brokerage: Jack Schmidt American Glass Artist: He received a B.S. degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. He later went on to pursue post-graduate studies in glass at Alfred State University in Alfred, NY and earned a graduate degree from Illinois State University in 1973. Throughout his career, Schmidt has taught at several prestigious institutions including the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, Ohio University in Athens, OH, The Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland ,OH, California State University, Chico,CA, Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood WA and Penland School of Crafts, Penland, NC. Jack Schmidt has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the world, and his work is included in permanent collections of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, OH, the National Museum of American Art in Washington, DC, the Bellrive Museum, Zurich, Switzerland and the Chubu Institute, Nagoya, Japan to name a few. In addition to all these accomplishments, Schmidt is affiliated with the American Crafts Council, the Glass Arts Society the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and recipient of grants from both the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ohio Arts Council.
