Art Brokerage: Alexander Eremin Russian Artist: b. 1977. Alexander Eremin is a professional sculptor and artist whose work synthesizes the traditions of monumental art with modernity. From 1996 to 2002, he studied at the Saint Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Industry, formerly known as the Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry named after Mukhina—one of the most prestigious and well-regarded schools of monumental art in Russia—where he earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. His education was guided by experienced professors, laying the foundation for the development of his unique style and approach to art. After graduating from the academy, Alexander Eremin actively participated in numerous international art events, allowing him to immerse himself in contemporary artistic practices and exchange experiences with colleagues from various countries. This exposure to a diverse artistic environment significantly influenced his work and allowed him to expand his creative boundaries. Eremin employs various artistic media, including traditional sculpture, installation, and painting. In his sculptural practice, he prefers to work with wood and bronze, enabling him to explore the richness of textures and forms. A particularly intriguing aspect of his work is his desire to understand and convey the inner world of humanity through form and color expression. His creative endeavors address significant philosophical themes, including the interaction of modern individuals with their surroundings, as well as the conflict and continuity between tradition and modernity. His artworks not only provide aesthetic pleasure but also raise pressing questions, encouraging viewers to reflect on the deeper meanings of existence. Alexander Eremin’s works are housed in the collections of the Museum of 20th–21st Century Art of St. Petersburg (MASP), as well as in private collections, which attests to his recognition and importance in the contemporary art world.
