Provenance / HistoryArtist's exhibitions at Wentworth Gallery
Story / Additional InfoWe went to one of the artist's exhibitions and were able to meet him, have our picture made with him and Pierre Henri Matisse. Renoir took the time to give my middle child (my second daughter, a budding artist) a quick art lesson and drew her a special picture of a lighthouse on a seashore. We bought this piece, as well as another original oil he was completing that day entitled "Pink Roses & Red Apples" (Edition 1/1) As described above, we purchased this at a gallery where Alexandre Renoir and Pierre Henri Matisse were both present, displaying their works (and completing works we then purchased). We had our photographs made with each, and very much enjoyed talking with them. This piece is an original oil on canvas, registration no. T402242.
