United StatesArt Brokerage: Jane "Raya" Giesler American Artist: Jane was born into a creative family, and received her formative schooling in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was fortunate to have studied privately with Jack Cartlidge in Sarasota, Florida, and created life size human sculptures in her studio. Even though Mr. Cartlidge was a professor of Art in New College, he encouraged her to find her own style and technique instead of the traditional art school path. At 18, the demanding realities of supporting herself as an adult forced her into design and production of jewelry. She continued her creative expression through jewelry and did so for over 20 years. She discovered the joy of print making while living in Mendocino, California in 1980. Jane spent three years at College of the Redwoods studying printmaking under Robert Rhodes, She fell in love with the print process and life has never been the same for her. She designed jewelry for various artists such as Erte. Listings wanted. Unique Jewelry listings wanted.
