Nydia Lozano - United States
Art Brokerage: Nydia Lozanon Spanish Artist: b. 1945. Nydia Lozannon (b. 1945 Alginet, Valencia, Spain) grew up in the orchards landscape in which life translates itself in a strong luminous atmosphere and she remembers the bright colors of the rice fields and of the orange and lemon trees. Since she was very young, Lozano felt the need to put on paper her impressions about the Valencia, countryside and towns, which were of course the cradle of many important Spanish painters. Her belfries and her familiar faces interested Josspert, the first person to speak with her about painting and probably, the first one that was able to speak about painters like Sargent, in the early 60s. He realized that Nydia's path was already chosen and he helped her to follow it.She later attended the the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Carlos, in Valencia. During that time she exhibited for the first time, enjoyed a scholarship in Rome and won several prizes that confirmed her vocation. After finishing her studies, she left Valencia for Barcelona. She began her career by exhibiting in Spain. Inspired by the works of the 19th century masters, Sargent, Sorolla and Zorn, and the continuing philosophy of the Valencia School, Nydia began portraying the female figure in her paintings, which, today, is the core of her work. Her paintings are inspired by her travels in Spain, depicting the life and landscape. Her canvases ring true to life for many people, reflecting the strength of her talent and the sensitivity of her heart. She lives in a small village in southern Spain and paints her beautiful figurative work in Mediterranean light. Listings wanted by Art Brokerage.
