Story / Additional InfoDescribed by some as a masterpiece this is a deeply personal painting brought forth from the imagination of Sax Berlin. Many years in the creating, Berlin wanted this image to emerge on canvas as though she had been through the French Revolution. Rarely today do we have the privilege of an insight into the mind and here Berlin has allowed us to get inside his processes and draw forth this stunning image. Who was she, what’s her story, how did she survive this traumatic period in history? The answers can only come from the interpretation you give.

Art Brokerage: Sax Berlin British Artist: b. 1953. Sax Berlin born in 1953. He is arguably the finest exponent of 21st Century Classicism, has devoted his life to absorbing the culture of art and architecture in Europe, Asia & North America. Thus becoming a genius of our time and the great secret of modern art. His contemporaries and collectors call him "The Master". Berlin is a unique artist, using techniques mastered during his studies; ranging from antiquity through the medieval and Renaissance to the present; he creates the visual outcomes he wants and that delight collectors. The pieces Berlin has created in his New York, Greek and Cornish studios are of museum quality and are rarely seen in Art Sales offering a combination of beautiful artworks and investment opportunities. Harvard University refer to him as a Master Artist and use his Buddhist Icon works as exemplars of the form in their Religious Studies degree courses. The President of the Asia Society on Park Avenue, NYC wrote to Berlin that "your work is beautiful" and Bernard Faure, Professor of Asia Studies at Columbia University wrote "your icons really do have a life of their own".
