Art Brokerage: Bill Schmidt American Artist: Bill Schmidt graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, and began painting as a hobby. As he traveled with his engineering career around the country, he studied with landscape painters in New England and New York. By 1984, Bill's hobby had progressed into his full-time profession. Bill Schmidt was largely self-taught and developed his own painting style that was called by an art critic, "a unique American Impressionism."
