Graduate of the School Furniture Montreal and the Royal Academy of Arts , he worked as a graphic designer-illustrator before turning exclusively to painting from the 1980s. His vision of the imaginary between two styles, the surrealism and figurative. Gérard Castonguay is characterized by its wide-characters which combines colors, compositions and lights. The inclination of his plans allows it to deliver real dynamism to his work, which he perfectly reflects his personality. It therefore considers that his work is the result of his experience.
