Story / Additional InfoLeo Stans was a supremely talented artist known for several styles and genres of subject. His wildlife paintings are true interpretations of what his eye saw and are timeless in attractiveness and beauty. You can even see his creative process at work as this piece evolved, as Stans painted over a landing eagle clutching their freshly caught fish in lower left rock formation. Since his untimely 2011 passing, his works, particularly his unique original oils, have become more treasured pieces of private collections. This is a wonderful piece for outdoor or wildlife enthusiasts, and collectors who appreciate stellar landscapes capturing an ephemeral moment in time.

Leo Stans - United States
Art Brokerage: Leo Stans American Artist: Leo Stans was raised in a small town in Minnesota, part of the "Heartland" of the U.S. An avid outdoorsman, he became drawn to painting wildlife and landscapes, and in 1980 decided to become a professional artist. In 1991 he was commissioned to paint The National Park Series, which was sold as framed prints. These prints were wildly successful and 100,000s were sold throughout the U.S. and Canada. In 2002, seeking fresh artistic direction, Stans began to paint landscapes of the magnificent Southwest and historical street scenes situated in Minneapolis and St. Paul. In 2009 he was chosen to be the official artist of the Minnesota State Fair, one of the largest in the world. Leo Stans passed away on March 22nd, 2011, but his legacy continues on through his stunning artwork. His paintings are recognized for their rich, beautiful colors and attention to fine detail. Stans was extremely versatile, with subjects ranging from meticulous renderings of wildlife to period pieces reminiscent of Impressionism. He has and will continue to attract collectors from across the country and around the world.
